Kolonne Null - alcohol free - sparkling Rosé 2020 Edition Wasem
Business as usual.
So far, no wine from Column Zero has ever disappointed me. The Riesling was great. The current Blanc de Blanc, which I was recently able to taste, is of impressive quality. And the Berliners hit the bull's eye with the 2020 Rosé, too. Once again, this sparkling was co-produced with a top winemaker. The choice fell on the Wasem winery from Rheinhessen, which was already responsible for the 2008 Silvaner. "The passion for wine was laid in the cradle of the entire family: The three brothers Julius, Philipp and Gerhard Wasem are the fourth generation to run the down-to-earth but elegant family winery in the Kaiserpfalz with 30 hectares. The Ingelheimer Grund offers the best soils for the production of convincing wines with a style full of character". The bottle is sealed with a real cork and the design is, as usual, modern and stylish. The wine is pleasantly sparkling. The perlage is fine and lively. The colour is a delicate pink. On the tongue, there is a directly enjoyable fresh sweetness, paired with tangibly fine acidity. Red berries, a hint of rosehip and light plum flavours are really fun. The finish is perfect and leaves an echo of juicy fruit. Pure or mixed, a convincing aperitif!
