Dr.Höhls Pomp - Bio-Aperitif O.O - Fruchtig

21 sparkling botanicals

Since 1779, the Höhl family has been producing valuable natural products from and with apples in the Main valley. Among others, the non-alcoholic organic aperitif POMP 0.0 in fruity and off-dry versions.

Fruity is the motto today. The bottle, sealed with a real cork, has a sleek design. The contents are without sugar substitutes, free of other additives, organic and, of course, alcohol-free.

The description on the back promises a lot. In addition to 21 botanicals, also the following: ".....one botanical from selected medicinal plants, spice extracts and juicy fruits. Pure or mixed, this multi-faceted tasting alcohol-free organic aperitif surprises with a fragrant berry bouquet, fruity-fine-sour play and delicate, woody notes." OK.

Berry bouquet? Check! Fine, fruity acidity? Check! Multifaceted? Yes, but in the grape-berry range, but far from a simple grape spritzer. On the palate, the fine acidity bubbles and keeps a pleasant counterbalance to the fruit sweetness. Tart and woody notes? In fact, the finish is a little more tart than expected. This is pleasant because it doesn't linger sweetly and pappy on the tongue. The Peralge lasts a while and you can take your time drinking it. Pomp Fruchtig is an excellent alternative on the aperitif tray. For me, it doesn't always have to be tart or bitter for me to feel grown up and to fit in. I also like it uncomplicated and refreshing. Nevertheless, I find it humiliating when I'm offered a plain apple spritzer as a Prosecco alternative. Or can it be a Fanta? Seriously? I'm 48 and the kids' table is back there. And no, I still don't want to drink the Prosecco after all. There are obviously alternatives. I'm already looking forward to the fine-tart version. Stay tuned.
