Jörg Geiger - Champagne Roast Pear - alcohol free

Rated Valuable!

The priseccos from the Jörg Geiger manufactory are well known to many. The assortment is large, but the cuveés haven´t really convinced me so far. That's why I was very curious about the Champagne roast pear. Real corks and an elaborately printed bottle do the product credit. The bottle looks high-quality and designed with attention to detail.

I read on the internet that the Champagner roast pear is a very old storage and cider pear from southern Germany. It was almost extinct in Germany when an association was founded to save this variety! The fine acid structure and inner quality of the Champagne pear clearly distinguishes it from other wine pears. This also guarantees its suitability for traditional bottle fermentation. For the composition, according to the manufacturer, matured vintages are gently freed of alcohol after bottle fermentation and maturation of at least 3 years on the lees. It is rounded off with the juice of the champagne roast pear and then subtly refined with exquisite spices, herbs and flowers.

The effort was worth it. The bottle opens with a rich plop. The perlage is fine and persistent in the glass. In the nose, a fine scent of pear, white flowers, light notes of cinnamon, fine yeasts. All very elegant. On the tongue, the drink convinces with restrained sweetness and fine acidity. The discreet tannin notes balance the product perfectly. The finish is light and pleasant and there is a fine reverberation. I was completely convinced by the champagne roast pear! Thank you very much and cheers!
